Our EV West 930 CV Stub Adapter kit allows for easy bolt-in compatibility in adapting your drive axles in your Tesla Drive conversion project. The stub axles are machined from ultra strong 300M, and directly fit the Tesla Performance Drive Unit, Base Drive Unit, and Small Drive Unit. These high strength flanges give you the flexibility to design your system with the desired power level.
M300 is a nickel-based maraging steel with superior strength, toughness, and wear resistance. It is 2-3 times stronger than 4130 and excels in fatigue and impact resistance. While easy to machine in its soft state, welding requires specialized techniques. Though more expensive, M300 is ideal for aerospace, high-performance motorsports, and military applications requiring maximum durability.
The thread size for this stub axle uses the off road standard of 3/8"-24, not the Porsche metric standard. You can find hardened CV bolts HERE

4130 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel known for its strength, toughness, and weldability. It offers good durability but requires heat treatment for maximum strength. While moderately wear-resistant, it can develop stress cracks under extreme loads. Easily weldable, it may need post-weld heat treatment. As a cost-effective option, 4130 is widely used in motorsports, aerospace, and structural applications.
