Made from 1.75" Steel Tubing this product is designed to fit the Type 2 Bus (T1 and early T2 from 1953–1979), the EV West VW Tesla subframe/motor mount provides bolt-in compatibility with the Tesla Model S rear drive unit.
The motor mount is compatible with the Tesla Model S Performance Drive Unit (LDU), Base Drive Unit, and Small Drive Unit (SDU), giving you the flexibility to design your system around your desired power level.
For customers using the Tesla Large Drive Unit (LDU), some vehicle modification is required. You will need to cut and remove the engine tin as well as a portion of the shelf above the motor for clearance. If using the Small Drive Unit (SDU), which we recommend, no vehicle modification is necessary, making for a cleaner and easier installation.
This system offers a bolt-in solution that is compatible with the EV West Tesla 930 CV flanges (link below), allowing for a direct bolt-in axle replacement.
