This BorgWarner BW 31-03 single-speed automatic transmission is brand new, unused, and undamaged in its original packaging. These units were originally prototype transmissions for All Green Vehicles (AGV) but were never shipped due to the company's closure. Purchased directly from the BorgWarner factory in Longview, Texas, they include the input shaft coupling collar and technical drawings.
Designed with a 6.54:1 gear reduction ratio, these transmissions were commonly adapted using a Volvo half shaft, requiring a cut and weld modification for compatibility. The inboard CVJ and shaft share the same interface as the 2003-2008 Volvo XC90 AWD (3.2L I6 & 4.4L V8).
Installation Notes:
- Use DEXRON VI as lubricant.
- Ensure the transmission is mounted on the driver’s side with the motor on the passenger side for correct gear rotation (CW input).
- The motor should be forward or aligned with the transmission output.
